Description
St. Herman’s cave tubing/Cave tubing away from the visiting cruise passengers to Belize.
When it comes to adventure tourism in Belize, cave tubing is often at the top of every traveler’s list. Floating on a gentle river through an ancient limestone cave system, surrounded by jungle sounds and echoing mystery, is an unforgettable experience. But while most tourists are funneled toward Jaguar Paw (also known as Nohoch Che’en), there’s another destination that offers all the wonder without the crowds: St. Herman’s Blue Hole National.
The tour takes approximately 2 hours. Starting with a 10 minute jungle walk to the entrance of the cave. This is a combination of a short cave exploration of around 200 meter before floating through this subterranean river system enjoying the view with spectacular formations.
The flow of the river is generally calm, making it ideal for tubing and family-friendly adventures. Its cool temperature contrasts beautifully with the warm, humid air of the jungle outside. The presence of this river gives life not only to the cave but also to the surrounding flora and fauna, supporting a delicate ecosystem both above and below the surface.
Why St. Herman’s Cave Tubing Stands Out
1. Fewer Crowds, More Nature
While Jaguar Paw feels more like a theme park on cruise days, St. Herman’s offers intimate, small-group cave tubing in a protected environment. You won’t be rushed through your experience, and there’s no competing with hundreds of other tubes on the river.
A Peaceful Underground Float
The cave tubing route at St. Herman’s is calm, cool, and captivating. With only your small group and an expert guide, you’ll float in near silence through cathedral-like caverns decorated with stalactites and ancient rock formations.
